The Federal Government has announced a new $1500 per fortnight payment for employees of businesses who are suffering a downturn.
Any small business whose turnover has fallen by 30% or more will be eligible.
Eligible employees include
- Full time workers
- Part time workers
- Casuals employed for over 12 months
- Sole traders
- Not for Profit
The payments will be made by the ATO to employers to pass onto their employees
Any employee who was on the books as at the 1 March 2020.
Payments will flow from 1 May 2020 and be backdated to 30th March 2020.
Employees who have previously been stood down will still be eligible.
